Blue Mountain – One of Corinth High School's top Cross Country runners, Will Crigger, has signed a national letter of intent to run for Blue Mountain College next season.
Crigger, a five-year runner for the Warriors, has been consistently ranked among the top runners in the 4A classification in the state.
Along with running the 5-Kilometer, Crigger has participated in the 1600-Meter Outdoor, the 3200-Meter Outdoor and the 2-Mile.
BMC Head Coach Phillip Laney said Tuesday that having the Corinth native on the BMC roster will provide more depth and experience, even as a freshman.
"I am super excited to have Will signing today (Tuesday). He is a big gain for the men's cross country team. He is a great kid, a hard worker and I look forward to having him on the team next season."
Crigger's achievements include a 2011 time of 19:11.80, a 17:59.00 time in 2012, a 2013 time of 18:03.90, and an 18:06.10 time in 2014 – all consecutively at the MHSAA State Cross Country Final Meets in the 5-Kilometer. The 2014 time landed him in 11th place overall in the state.
Recently, he turned in a 17:20.34 in the 5-Kilometer at the Pontotoc Invitational in Pontotoc, Miss.
