Parker Peterson, daughter of Chip and Angel Peterson, has been selected as the Corinth Rotary Student of the Month for December.
Ranked at third in her class of 140, Parker has a GPA of 4.23 and an ACT score of 30. She is an inductee to the Corinth High School Hall of Fame for 2016. Peterson is on track to receive her AICE diploma before graduation, along with 17 college hours. She has received the honor of basketball scholar athlete for the past 3 years. Parker is currently Alcorn County’s Distinguished Young Woman.
Active in many organizations, Parker is a member of the Academic Team and currently holds several officer positions in clubs she is involved in. She is Mu Alpha Theta Vice President, National Honors Society Secretary, C Club Secretary, and last year was Mu Alpha Theta Secretary. She is also a member of many other clubs, including Interact Club and Key Club. Her classmates selected her as Junior Class President, as well as Senior Maid on the 2015 Homecoming Court. She was a member of the ‘Legally Blonde’ cast in 2015 school musical.
Parker has been a member of the Corinth Lady Warrior Basketball team for 4 years, CHS Cheer team for 4 years, CHS Track team for 2 years, and is on the Corinth High School Wifi Productions team. She participated in Mayor’s Youth Council and Junior Leadership Alcorn County. Parker has also studied classical piano since second grade and played piano in the CHS Beauty Revue for three years. She has done many other projects within the community, including volunteering at the Animal Shelter, packing boxes for the Rotary food drive, CSD Foundation Dinner, the Coke Race, and numerous other events and school functions.
Parker has been accepted to the University of Mississippi, but is still undecided where she will attend college. In college, she plans to major in Managerial Finance and Real Estate, followed by pursuing an MBA and possibly a degree in Law.
