This season, the varsity volleyball team is made up of 22 girls and two managers. Most of the players are young, allowing the coaches the opportunity to improve the players’ abilities for years to come. The seniors are Alleigh Jordan, Katelyn Shelton, Zakiah Gwyn, Sadie Rhea and Aleasha Harris. The managers are Blessin Kirksey and Azaria Patterson.
Head Coach Cassidy Dotter is enjoying her first year of coaching this team. “It is my mission to change the atmosphere around volleyball and show these players that the sport is just as competitive and fun as the others as long as you work hard and care about your teammates! My expectations for them are high because I know they are capable young women and hungry to change the outcome of this year,” said Dotter. “They have been working hard and persevering through obstacles. We are very proud of them and excited to see where that hard work continues to carry our team in the future.”
During their first two games this season (vs. Booneville and vs. Biggersville), they fought hard but unfortunately fell short. The team looks forward to the rest of the season!
