Homecoming

Corinth School District creates a memorable Homecoming week. Dress-up days kick off the week with a different theme each day. Homecoming queen, Homecoming sweethearts and the Homecoming maids are voted on by the student body.

A highlight of the week is the Homecoming Parade in downtown Corinth that culminates in a pep rally at the Courthouse. High school classes and clubs compete to create elaborate floats and cars for their Homecoming sweethearts to ride in. Awards are given for the most original, beautiful and creative floats and cars.

The home football game is the culminating event of Homecoming week. During half-time, the Homecoming Court is recognized.

Hall of Fame

The Corinth High School Hall of Fame is the highest honor a Corinth student can receive. The group is composed of up to eight seniors that are chosen by a faculty/staff committee based on scholarship, leadership, extracurricular activities, school/community service and attendance/discipline/character/integrity.

Seniors complete an application that lists their involvement in these five main areas. A student can receive up to 20 points in each area. The committee completes a ranking sheet on each candidate and the eight highest scoring candidates are selected. Composites of the most recent Hall of Fame members hang outside the CHS library.

The winners are announced in November each year.

Warriors on Waldron

This annual event begins at Dilworth’s in downtown Corinth. The band, dance, cheer and football teams march to the Care Garden and then host a pep rally with a few words from Coach Dye.

Follies

This annual senior variety show takes place in early May. Most every senior participates in this production and helps create a theme, pick the music and choregraph the show. A live band performs alongside the participants. Performances are hosted Tuesday through Friday for all community members.

Warrior Olympics

This annual event is an Olympics-type experience consisting of fun, indoor and outdoor activities including track and field, football and basketball. With over 70 students participating in grades K-12, the whole day is memorable and exciting for everyone involved.

Several Special Olympics events are included such as the 25m walk, 50m run and 100m run, football and tennis toss, and basketball throw. Additionally, teachers also include some extra events such as a beach ball toss, Just Dance station, tattoo station, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and hula hoop contest.

At the end of the day, the participating athletes have a pep rally with the high school band and cheerleaders. Family members cheer their student on as they receive an award for their participation and hard work.

Senior Night

Senior Night, a parent-sponsored event, is an annual tradition on the evening before the first day of school. Seniors begin with an official class photo at 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and the event culminates in a parade to school the following morning at 7:30 a.m.

Between those times, they chalk their student parking spot, have a supper and swim party, go skating, go to karaoke, launch lanterns, attend a s’mores party and paint the city bridge with their names. While the event is not hosted by the school district, senior parents participate the whole evening to ensure student safety. This tradition is a favorite for all seniors.

Community Book Read

The annual Community Wide Book Read promotes literacy through a partnership between the district and families. All students in PreK-12th grade, along with all district employees, receive the same book. Families read the book aloud and discuss the book together at home. Teachers also discuss the book with their classes and participate in activities during the school day related to themes of the different books.

The following is a list of previous book reads:
